Sarde

Mexico City, Mexico

Mexico City is swiftly establishing itself as a gastronomic destination, with culinary tourism flourishing and sensational venues like Sarde leading the way. Found on the lower level of a three-storey townhouse in the historic Roma Norte neighbourhood, the restaurant – which takes its name from ‘sardine’ – is impossibly chic inside (all natural stone, wood and exposed brick) with a warm and welcoming dining room joined by a convivial sit-at bar. Helmed by chef Jacob Harth, Sarde shows off the flavours of Mexico's coast with inventive dishes such as octopus in glossy black ink, perfectly crisp fish and chips, and sardines paired with tangerine atop freshly baked sourdough. For those leaning carnivorous, a succulent rib-eye offers a satisfying alternative.
